Thursday’s Trivia Question!

Just a reminder: Maryland Matters will be hosting a Maryland history and politics trivia contest on Tuesday evening, March 27, upstairs at Stan & Joe’s Saloon, 37 West St., Annapolis. It’ll cost just $10 to participate. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the contest begins at 7 p.m.

Save the date…and click here to RSVP.

Please make your contribution ‘In Honor of Trivia Night’ to reserve your space.

We’ll provide more details about the contest in the days ahead. But you might want to start boning up on your Maryland and political history. And plan to invite your friends!

We’ll be asking a trivia question each day to get you in practice. Here’s the question we posted Wednesday:

Born in Baltimore, this lawyer and political activist served as U.S. secretary of the Navy and later founded the FBI. Extra point if you can name his great-uncle.

The answer: Charles Joseph Bonaparte. He was the great-nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Now, the next question:

Who is the former slave and abolitionist known for returning to the South to help free over 300 slaves and lead them along the Underground Railroad?

Check this space Friday for the answer — and the next question! And please make plans to join us on the 27th.
